Our origin story

Sibylla emerged from a fundamental challenge in financial markets: the persistent noise that obscures meaningful signals. Our founders saw an opportunity to apply scientific method where human intuition fails.

August 2019

Sibylla is founded by Prof. Alex Bronstein, PhD as a research project at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.

2020

Sibylla hires its first PhD researchers through a collaboration agreement with Technion.

2021

Sibylla’s codebase grows rapidly as the team experiments with different approaches and data types.

2022

Sibylla becomes a commercial venture.

Khan Baykaner joins the team as CTO and the research team moves predominantly to the UK.

2023

Sibylla’s backtests produce their first solid results, proving that the concepts being developed are viable.

September 2024

Sibylla begins paper trading.

2025

Sibylla hires its investment team.

2026

Sibylla sets up its first hedge fund using its proprietary technology.
