Prof. Alex Bronstein, PhD

Alex is a leading researcher in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and geometric computing. He received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where he holds the Dan Broida Academic Chair and leads the Center for Intelligent Systems. Since 2024, he also serves as Professor at the Austrian Institute of Science and Technology (ISTA). His research focuses on the development of machine learning models for diverse applications, including computational imaging and vision, signal and image processing, structural biology and chemistry, and algorithmic trading.

Alex is a Fellow of the IEEE and the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS) and is a recipient of four grants from the European Research Council. He has co-founded and advised multiple technology companies applying advanced AI to fields ranging from medical imaging to capital markets. As Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer of Sibylla, Professor Bronstein leads the application of machine learning and statistical methodologies to financial data and trading systems. He is fluent in English, Russian, Italian, and Hebrew.
